Dansens Haus
Dansens Haus is a studio for dance artists in Oslo, driven by Janne Eraker and Siri Jøntvedt. This is our work place. Our goal is that the studio will be used as much as possible, specifically by freelancing dance artists. Dansens Haus is not meant to be used for commercial activities like dance classes for amateurs.
Of course Dansens Haus is a word play, with a nod to the actual Dansens Hus just down the street, combined with Haus, the nickname for the cultural complex the studio resides in, which again has its name from the street we're on; Hausmanns gate. If you're Norwegian and you hesitate about how to say Dansens Haus; say it the same way you would say Hausmanns gate.
Dansens Haus can be rented only on a short term basis, so we only accept request for the upcoming month. Check for availability in the calendar below (NB: check how long bookings are by clicking on them). Send an email to janneeraker@gmail.com OR sirijoen@gmail.com to request to rent Dansens Haus, including your phone number and billing info. If it fits the schedule, we'll send you a confirmation and you can pick up a key somewhere. If your request is not complete, we might not have time to respond to it.
One block of 3 hours costs 285 kr, plus a billing fee of 25 kr. Bills are sent at the beginning of the next month. We get a lot of requests and are not always able to respond, especially when requests are incomplete.
Address: Hausmania, Hausmanns gate 34, second floor, view towards the river
Size: 6 x 12 m
No mirrors, no shower. A storage room can work as a dressing room if needed. A basic music installation is available, with a minijack cable and a small mixer. Keep in mind that there is no way to let people (audience, guests) in other than to pick them up at the street level door and guide them to the studio.
The room is renovated with generous support from the Norwegian Arts Council, help from hard working family and friends, and with help from Hausmania.
